Iwacu Trust Management was founded to provide construction and property management solutions for Rwandans abroad who cannot manage these tasks themselves. This segment of Rwandans has been disadvantaged in this respect and has ended up losing millions of their hard-earned money to friends and family members they trusted for property development assistance. Besides family and friends, unscrupulous companies have emerged, driven by quick profits, delivering shoddy work on entrusted projects or inflating project costs to maximize “profits,” or even vanishing with clients’ money intended for these projects. This has fueled distrust and hindered further engagement in property development by the diaspora.
